3 Great Tips to Promote Your New Book!

You’ve done all the hard work; you’ve got your book written, you’re a self-published author, and now you’re ready for customers to come and buy your book! Before they buy your book though, they need to know it’s available.

How can you let the world know about your book without breaking the bank?

After all, you’ve just spent most of your budget on getting your book published; you don’t have a lot left for glitzy advertising campaigns.

Below are my top 3 tips you can use to promote your book, and still keep within your budget!

Tip No. 1 One Page Website

Set up a one-page website featuring just your book. The domain could be the title or similar of your book. This would direct search engine traffic to your book, and this would be linked to from any other materials that you may write relating to your book, e.g. articles. You would link back to your website in your Author Resource box.

Tip No. 2 Write and Submit Articles

This is a great way to gain promotion and exposure for your book. It has been well documented that one-way links to your website (Tip 1 above) increase search engine rankings more than reciprocal linking, and article submission is an excellent way to achieve one-way linking.

Gather together some articles of between 500 and 1000 words (700 is standard) that either relates to the topic of your book, or you can lift directly from your book into 'How To....’ or ‘x Top Tips for …’ articles. These can then be submitted to various online article websites.

Tip No. 3 Get Blogging!

Set up a blog to show off your expertise, publish your articles, and build your credibility. Link your blog to your one-page website, and vice versa, to help build your credibility and recognition. Use your book title as your blog name.
